“Akkuyu”: we got into contacts with the Turkish partners

Сorporation “Splav” has successfully undergone testing of a quality management system in the Turkish accreditation agency TURKAK and has begun the procedure of passing of check by the Turkish technical supervisory authority of TAEK. They are necessary actions for inclusion in the list of suppliers of the equipment for the new NPP “Akkuyu” under construction in Turkey. The nuclear power plant is designed by the Russian project which assumes construction and implementation of 4 power units.

More than half a year “Splav” worked on a set of documents for ТАЕК. It included information on the enterprise, its technical capacities, the equipment and personnel and also the list of the pipeline armature offered to delivery: valves, locks, latches. After preliminary studying of the electronic version of all documents the Turkish side has invited specialists of Corporation to Ankara.

“We have undergone preliminary testing of ТАЕК and have gone to discuss further cooperation. Official documentary check after which arrival of three groups of the Turkish experts will be appointed at once to our enterprise has now begun. First, it is representatives of technical department of ТАЕК, secondly, experts of again created TAEK group on the NPP under construction which will be aimed at verification of design and working documentation and, thirdly, specialists of the TSE organization which is responsible for check of compliance of production to the European norms”.

Arrival of the Turkish experts is planned for the end of June of the current year.

Production of pipeline armature and equipment for nuclear sector – one of the main directions of activity of MC “Splav”. The shutoff pipeline valves made by Corporation have equipped 55 units on all Russian nuclear power plants and also all foreign NPPs constructed on the Russian projects.
